viciouskitty74 SG Not much worried about suits & some breathing equipments lah. Got lots of professional diver friends plus an old accquaintance that used to own a dive shop. He still has items in his home storeroom. I just need to go raid for things my size.
av98m SG eeerrrmmmm...you DO know there is a swimming requirement for certification right? any instructor that certifies a non-swimmer as a diver needs to be strung by the balls
Fatum SG old time sailors used to say ... it's better NOT to know how to swim ... cos knowing how to merely prolongs the inevitable when the sea wants you ...
choco B SG October - Dec 2007? "" Plenty of time to learn swimming, find suits that fit, loose flab.... bikini wax... etcetcetc.....
viciouskitty74 SG I try not to. The older steersman made me wear them everytime I want to walk outside the cabin for the fresh air. They are realy nice old daddies kinda lah. So I obliged when they are looking lah. Its safe lah, just that at night, always better to tell the folks to watch out for you just in case you really plonked into the waters. Our uniforms all dark, long sleeve and no reflective buttons lah. Wont be able to see you at night when you merged into the waters.

av98m SG mutters and shakes head….soldiers that cannot swim…coast guard that cannot swim..whats the world coming to…..
choco B SG Haha no thanks, Can't dive & not really interested to learn. (I can swim though! ) Besides who knows how Mergui will be like in 10 months time! There'd probably be a hot new site by then...
viciouskitty74 SG Then you can always come back to Phuket and explore the island and some of its diving spots. We are talking about planning a holiday here. Dive, party, boating, party, shopping, party, R&R at the beach & getting involved with strangers.
av98m SG Actually, there is a way to get around it. For you, you can put on and take off your gear on the water surface is instead of the normal way. The tank and stuff will feel weightless underwater. P.S. this works only if you're actually able to swim/thread water
the Bear SG bugger it.. instead of that little scooter, why not go the whole hog? or if there's a Mrs Bear involved, the 2-seater
